The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is very clean and well decorated. We usually get average service. Sometimes its great... others... not so much. We only go here on Sundays because my parents choose it for convenience. The food is well overpriced given the quality. The highlight is the bread with vinegar and oil, if you can get any without waiting forever for it "to come out of the oven...." I am spoiled to great home cooked Italian, but the level of quality here is unacceptable for the price. Alfredo from a jar tasted better than what is served at this location. I will keep trying to get the parents to go somewhere else and I suggest you do the same.

Have dined here two times. Service was good, food was good, price was good. I'll eat here again when I'm back in OKC.

Clean, warm and we had excellent service. I had the veggie pizza and I couldn't even eat half of it. The food and service was extremely prompt. We were in and out in 40 minutes which was great after a long day of traveling. I only gave 3 stars because I felt it was overpriced and the waitress refilled glasses with a pitcher that she allowed to touch the edge of my glass and everyone else's around me. Lori needs a refresher on how germs are spread in a restaurant.

Zio's is a pretty good place to get some pasta and their calzones are delicious! They have nice size portions as well. I don't ever hardly come to eat in the restaurant but rather get their lunch menu to-go. They always have my food ready quickly and I've had a good experience with them getting everything right with my orders which can sometimes be a rarity in to-go orders. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced and you get a soup or salad with your entree as well as a small loaf of Italian bread!

We always stop at Zio's here and in Tulsa when on the road. We continue to enjoy our favorites of Calamari appetizer and Caesar salads still satisfy as does a couple of glasses of Chianti. And the bread and generous herbs and olive oil dip..with balsamic are among the best. My wife end I split a Seafood Linguini...mine is hot her's is not. This time my wife also ordered a triple combo of lasagna, chicken parm. The dish arrived and the chicken parm was burnt breading surrounded by cheese and sauce!! We alerted our waiter who took it to the Kitchen and returned in 5 minutes with a nice juicy chicken parm! Good recovery, but the first dish should not have made it to our table. Service once again saved the day. Left overs made it to San Diego!

Excellent italian/american food. Unlimited bread. Extended review: I've been here 3 times and I've had great food every time. The lunch menu is quick and cheap. The bread is great with the olive oil.

I unfortunately had my rehearsal dinner here and cannot explain how much I loathe this place. We planned months in advance to have 2 large tables reserved and they still sat our group right by the kitchen doors. The place was completely dirty, smells moldy, and the food just blah. Went here on a different occasion (why do I let people take me here!?) and had the pizza which literally tasted worse than school cafeteria pizza. The cheese was also a sickly yellow color. The waiter also spilled water on me and failed to apologize or clean it up. So I'm sitting in a puddle of water eating crappy pizza...yeah.... My advice is go somewhere else. At the very least, Olive Garden or Carinos. Zios is just not worth it.

I stay overnight at Will Rogers Airport often, and tried many restaurants in this area. Zio's is hands down the best. Service was great, accommodated a special request, all the food was piping hot and delicious. Nice thing about this place is that there is truly something for everyone. Restaurant is within walking distance of many of the airport area hotels. This will be my go-to place everytime!

We chose this restaurant because of their GLUTEN FREE choices...bad choice. Our waiter "Tommy" was inattentive. We had to ask several times before he brought our requests and it took him almost 10 mins to bring our check. He was too busy talking with a co-worker at the bar to attend to our needs, all on a Monday night when the restaurant was not even busy. The restaurant was clean, but say no to the Parmesan...they keep it in uncovered bowls on the edges of the aisles where everyone walks. A child could easily put their hands in it or heaven forbid a hair falls off of someone walking by...ugh. To top it all off, my food was contaminated with GLUTEN even though i specifically ordered off the GF menu and made sure our waiter knew my needs. Thanks ZIO's for the sickness and after effects of gluten poisoning these past couple of days...I won't forget it!

I used to work here, and because of that, would never eat here again. This place just isn't clean. Sure, the food is super cheap, but there's a reason for that! Most of this stuff you could make better at home with a box of spaghetti and a jar of sauce! This place brings in a lot of the hillbilly crowd, which can be entertaining. However, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Disappointed - 6:30 PM Monday evening, restaurant not crowded. It took a few minutes before I was greeted and seated. Very pleasant server. I ordered Caesar Salad and Chicken Marsala. I was served their bread and very tasty Pesto sauce. Salad was brought promptly but almost as soon I started the salad the Marsala was served. The restaurant didn't need to turn the table over so quickly it was about 1/2 full. I really like Chicken Marsala and I expect some variations between chefs but this was so sickingly sweet that I barely ate any. They gave me a credit for the entre and offered something else but I was angry about the rush and the strange recipe. I had visited this restaurant. pleased, 2-3 time over the past 7 years but I doubt that I'll return. Thank heavens for the bread and Pesto. Why the rush and the unusual preparation?

The food was good but the service was excellent. We were with a group of 30 and two staff serviced everyone. The drinks were always full, there was always bread on the table and most importantly the order was accurate and so was the bill.

One star because the Oreo Mountain was decent... WORST PLACE EVER TO EAT... The tomatoes were super old.. Marinara sauce was just tomato sauce out of a can.. spicy marinara sauce after adding pepper was still not flavorful. The waiter was not attentive.... They did not even have fresh ground pepper WORST ITALIAN PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE.. Olive Garden is better than this place...

Great food!!! Awesome atmosphere! I came here because I was staying down the street and wanted to enjoy a pasta dinner before running the Oklahoma City Memorial Half-Marathon. The location surprised me as it is located by the northern airport hotel district on Meridian. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, and the chicken alfredo lasagna and the spicy chicken fettuccini alfredo. Wow! First talk, about a lot of food!! I had to take most of the food to go The mushrooms were great, but the chicken alfredo was super spicy! I love spicy food! And the chicken alfredo lasagna was unbelievable. I had never tried such a dinner. What makes this place unusually different is "it is not your typical Italian chain restaurant! I walked in and was seated immediately. The kitchen faces all of the tables and one can feel a "mama's" type kitchen ambience. The hostess wrote her name in crayon on the butcher paper covering the table. She bought me some rosemary, or was it thyme, and poured virgin olive oil on it for me. She then proceeded to bring some nice warm bread. The service was great and I could feel myself going into a carb coma! But then again, that was the plan - to have a carb filled lunch so I could run it off the next morning! All I can say, is I had no trouble with energy levels the next day. Next time, you fly into OKC, stop at Zios and try one of their entrees.

This is chain style Italian dining, kind of like a cross between Applebee's and Olive Garden. Some of the food combinations would seem unorthodox for your average Italian, but the food is okay. Unfortunately, the front of the house always seems to be in meltdown, and they couldn't handle a large table if their lives depended on it. When the front of the house gets in the weeds, you can depend on dishes stacking up for delivery and hapless waitrons running about while you wonder where your food is (hint, it's under a heat lamp).

In town for graduation and Zios was just down the road from hotel. Service was good and waitress diligent about our needs. Food was average at best. Salads were 2.50 or so as add on and extra 3.00 for chicken add on. We all had water and by the time we got the bill for two adults and two kids it was nearly $70. That's more than a $$ which yelp lists them. And for average food and atmosphere it's robbery. So go, but understand the add on's will quickly add up. For the money I would stick to Olive Garden or other Italian.

Their half and half ravioli was delicious.. and they give so much that u can take it home and eat it twice. The best part is their bread. It's so soft!! Def going back here!

Daughter is an Italian fanatic so thought would let her try some more 'upscale' food. I got soup/salad, wife got twin favorites(lasagna & parmesan chicken), daughter got crispy shrimp scampi. My soup was luke warm and basically has the texture of hard paste, salad was chunky with dried out pieces of cheese over it. The dressing was a cup of sour liquid that turned my face with every bite. Wifes lasagna was almost cold in the middle and parmesan was extra extra crispy. Her dish was served over a bed of spaghetti noodles that were over cooked and not drained properly. Half way through her dish the WHOLE bottom of plate was covered in water. Daughters shrimp scampi was ok. Was very dry though with absolute no extra alfredo sauce sent out with it Over all was a horrible meal, if not for Karina our server we would have thrown a royal bitch fit. She made sure we always had drinks and fresh bread. I think next time tho, take the 48 dollars and invest in some Ragu or go to Primos. Zios has fallen in line with Olive Garden. Mundane crap that you can bulk make and spew out to the customer and no individual zing to any dish. You can go to any Zios or any Olive Garden anywhere in the US and you will not find any difference in food taste.

Had the Classic Calzone and a Caesar Salad. Had to be fast though. The server did not control how fast my Calzone was cooked so he served it to me when I had barely started eating my salad.

What a trainwreck... don't ever go here. Pasta wasn't cooked right, sauces come out of a bag, and presentation was something out of a junior high school cafeteria. Overall, the food was on-par with Stouffer's frozen entres. Who knows, maybe the lasagna is Stoffer's. This place needs to be shut down for good. Try Panaera bread next door. Your stomach will thank you.

Being from Wisconsin I didn't know before going there if Zio's is a chain or not. I couldn't tell for sure based on going there this evening. That's a good thing. The restaurant is large. I like the appearance both outside and inside. It does look Mediterranean. It's a pleasant place with a comfortable, inviting interior. I like it when you can see the kitchen. The ceiling is quite high and the temperature was perfect so that I didn't get chilled coming in from the Oklahoma heat. The staff is pleasant. Our server, Jillian, was cheerful and helpful. Their bread is very good: 4 of 5 stars. I had Lavazza cappuccino which I thought was very good. It wasn't served hot enough but I give it 4 of 5 stars. The house salad was forgettable: 2 of 5 stars. One of the people there with me had the Tomato Florentine soup which she thought was excellent. One person took Jillian's recommendation and had the chicken cannelloni. She said it was very good or excellent. One other person had Chicken Alfredo which she said was very good. I had the Greek pasta which was very good-excellent: 4 or 5 stars. It had chicken and whole cloves of garlic in the light, clear sauce: perhaps olive oil with some spices. It had a pleasant peppery taste complimented very nicely with a good amount of feta cheese sprinkled on top. Just the right size. Gazing at the Chicken Alfredo it looked like there was too much alfredo sauce; I bet that it was heavy; the lady only ate about half. They charge for the house salad. Therefore my total bill was $14.92. I see that they have a nice web site. You may wish to see if they have entrees to your liking. There was a family near by with a couple of kids; it looked like they were having a great time.

The staff here at Zio's was so nice and helpful. I called the morning of for a catering order that I needed in a couple of hours. They were so quick, had everything ready and handled it with a breeze. When we showed up they offered us soda's while we waited for them to package things, seriously such nice service. The food was great and exactly what we were looking for, very filling but quality Italian food. I would recommend consulting with the sales caterer before placing your order because she did not inform me that I was WAY over ordering. I honestly had enough for two meals. Luckily we ate the left overs for dinner but it is an easy question to ask that I didn't think about when I was ordering.

Absolutely terrible food. If you look toward the food preparation area, you'll see only Latin people doing the cooking and they have zero knowledge of how to cook Italian cuisine. The food Zios presents to you look incredibly sloppy in preparation and taste terrible.

I have eaten here maybe 2 or 3 dozen times over the years and have never had a disappointing meal. The service is almost always friendly and courteous. The herb mix with olive oil is a perfect compliment to the bread they serve before your meal. I never have room for dessert, so I can't comment on that. I recommend this place if you like Italian food.

Unfortunately this is not going to be one of my usual rave reviews. Stopped by after work and at 4p could barely get anyone to wait on me at the To Go counter. Plenty of employees walked by and gave me the fish eye. Mamas Feast is Alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna. Asked for 2 side salads which wound up costing me $8 for about $1.99 worth of salad. We split the lasagna saving the rest for lunches and then decided to pitch it instead. Food was tasteless. Very disappointing all the way around. For an upscale pasta place this was a sad showing. Won't be foolish enough to do that again. = /

I am so impressed with this restaurant. No way I expected this jewel in OKC. After a very long day of traveling I wanted a Lemon Drop Martini which is not easy to find. Zios made me a great Lemon Drop. The food was really good. But the best part of the meal was the service we got from Tamara our server. Great personality and great service. I had the strawberry field salad and she recommended the perfect wine to go with it. Definitely ask for Tamara if you go there. We had the Apple Pie for dessert and it was "to die for". Definitely recommend this place.

Wow I'm from NYC so I know good Italian. This was probably the worst Italian food I ever ate. Ordered chicken parm....the chicken tasted like rubber and the pasta was very under cooked. Two stars is for the nice lady who helped me order to go and go over the menu.

My favorite thing in the restaurant are the bread with the bread vslices that you put olive oil on. The wait wasn't that bad for the main meal and the food was good(The desert was amazing.) I would recommend this place to other people to go to.

Hope you remembered the screwdriver! Ordered a chicken dish with spinach, got a 3/4-inch, #10 self-tapping sheet metal screw, conveniently nestled amongst the spinach leaves so I found it with my teeth. Also, the bro-waiter was rude, messed up one of our party's orders so she had to wait while the correct dish was prepared, as the rest of us awkwardly nibbled in sympathy, and was pretty unapologetic about the screw. Zios: we will literally screw you.

Easy to get to, parking on the side if the front is full. We walked in and saw a group of people all in the waiting area, and were seated within two minutes. Bread sticks and olive oil dip is good. I ordered Lasagna and it was quite tasty. Daughter ordered spicy chicken Alfredo, she loved it! I would recommend this place. Cozy place, fast service, moderate pricing.

What is the smell when you come in the front door? Why do you give out a torn menu? Looks like it was shredded in the dishwasher. The waitress had a wonderful smile and was happy to take care of me...then I never saw her again until it was time for the bill. I was offered an ice tea to-go. The Alfredo tasted like condensed soup. There was enough herbs to float a battleship with the bread. Not making a return trip. At least the waitress was nice...only reason it gets an additional star.

Over all not impressed. I only ordered the cheese ravioli seems simple enough. They come on a bed on pasta which I feel was just a filler. If I wanted plain noodles I would have ordered plain pasta. The ravioli were slightly over cooked. The Alfredo was blah the red sauce was alright. I wouldn't go back. My meal was buffet quality.

For a chain, this is actually pretty good. I got bread with herbs and olive oil complementary ... They had hot lemonade with honey for my sore throat. The waiter was attentive even though it was somewhat busy. I ordered the tilapia which was very light and somewhat on the healthy side, along with minestrone soup. The waiter didn't charge for that so Score!!!. Overall a good experience when you want something that appeases to most palates

Quick service, but lack of flavor at times. My husband and I both had to add salt to our dishes. Other than that great service, we were allowed to taste the wine before ordering, waitress listened and offered good advice. Try the grilled salmon, you won't regret it.

Ordered take out and got the grilled veggie lasagna. It was absolutely delicious! It contains thin slices of squash, onions, and mushrooms with normal pasta, sauce and ricotta cheese. This is only four stars bc previously I tried the margherita pizza and wasn't impressed.

Just ate here tonight, our waitress Tam was amazing. Very friendly and great with keeping us updated. Food wise it wasn't so great, the dessert was yummy. I was very hesitant on ordering the cheesecake hoping it wasn't the plastic cheese cake you usually get but Tam convinced us and took a chance, and yes it was very deliciously creamy.

Went for lunch alone and sat at Pizza Bar. Had spaghetti and meatballs. Quite tasty. Salad decent (I am not a fan of salads - too green for me!) I REALLY enjoyed the bread with dipping sauce (nice and white food for me). Staff friendly and attentive. Will come back. Food came out quick enough for a lunch time stop.

Great place! We flew in from the East Coast, so it was great early dinner after a long day. We had the sausage stuffed mushrooms and baked formaggio w/ olive tapenade for appetizers. Both were awesome. My dad had chicken Marsala over potatoes, I had lemon chicken primavera and my daughter had chicken pomodoro. Everything was excellent. Great prices and wonderful server. Definitely recommend!

I went here years ago before the days of Yelp. It was so bad it is literally the only resteraunt I refuse to give a second chance to. We were with about 15 people. Two of use ordered steaks med well. Once the food finally came out we cut into our our steak and almost gagged it was so rare. After waiting about 20 minutes for our waitress to return we informed them of our problem. They took our cut into steaks and 6 or 7 minutes later brought them back to us shriveled masses of beef jerky. They freaking microwaved them. I couldnt believe it. I immediately told our server to take our plates away and get a manager. They did end up comping our meal. So we enjoyed the time with our group, left and grabbed some fast food down the street.

On recommendation, mmhh Flew in. Long day Hotel shuttle driver recommended. Sat at 'pizza bar' Folks were friendly. Warm vibe. Clean. Bread dipping mixture was tasty. Chicken Marsala ($15.95) Server allowed me to change out pasta for spinach. Marsala marinade was sweet, full of sautéed mushrooms and red onion. Chicken was juicy and tender, BUT a bit skimpy in quantity. Overall: middle of the road average

The food was good but the service was excellent. We were with a group of 30 and two staff serviced everyone. The drinks were always full, there was always bread on the table and most importantly the order was accurate and so was the bill.

Excellent italian/american food. Unlimited bread. Extended review: I've been here 3 times and I've had great food every time. The lunch menu is quick and cheap. The bread is great with the olive oil.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
